Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ Global Transaction: ISIL), a leading provider of innovative power management and precision analog solutions, today announced the launch of the ZL2102, a 6A digital synchronous step-down DC/DC power regulator, enabling Industry-leading power management IC product lineup has further expanded. The new ZL2102 is a fully integrated DC/DC regulator with auto-compensation that supports 0.54V to 5.5V adjustable output voltages. The operating input voltage range is from 4.5V to 14V. The high level of integration and ease of configuration make the ZL2102 Suitable for reliable products of even the most complex infrastructure power systems.

The ZL2102 DC/DC regulator is part of Intersil's third-generation digital power platform. Its automatic compensation feature detects power levels and automatically adjusts accordingly, resulting in a stable and reliable solution. Automatic compensation helps speed design by eliminating complex design calculations, while providing a highly reliable power solution that can adapt to external component aging.

The ZL2102 is a high-performance solution with a footprint of only 6mm x 6mm. The integrated synchronous power MOSFET enables the ZL2102 to deliver up to 6A continuous load at 4.5V - 14V input voltage with high efficiency. Based on internally integrated compensation, internal bootstrap diodes, and a low-dropout regulator (LDO) powered by an internal driver circuit, the ZL2102-based perfect design can be created with minimal external components and board space.

Helping to reduce design time is the pursuit of ZL2102 development from beginning to end. The ZL2102 is fully configurable with an external pin configuration or resistor setting, allowing all important parameters to be set and adjusting the switching frequency, output voltage, soft start ramp/delay setting, and timing configuration options. For more advanced settings, the ZL2102 supports more than 70 PMBus commands and can use Intersil's new PowerNavigator? The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is easy to configure. PowerNavigator? The GUI supports a wide range of device designs without writing a single line of code, and its easy-to-use interface provides visual timing configuration and drag-and-drop placement capabilities that can help significantly accelerate design time.

In complex power systems, monitors and timing controllers are used to comprehensively monitor and control each power rail to increase reliability.
