How to deal with fire and fire suppression methods for household appliances

There are several types of emergency response to an initial fire. In the event of a fire, it is crucial to immediately alert the fire department and organize personnel within the unit to use simple fire extinguishing tools and firefighting equipment. Common disposal methods include:

1. For small fires involving solid combustibles, you can use brooms, branches, or clothing to put out the flames.

2. If an electrical fire occurs, or if the electrical circuit or equipment is at risk, make sure to cut off the power supply immediately to prevent further danger.

3. Isolate flammable materials, remove anything near the fire source, close valves, and stop the flow of flammable gases or liquids to the fire area.

4. For small indoor fires in confined spaces, close doors and windows before extinguishing to prevent fresh air from feeding the fire and reducing its spread.

5. Evacuate flammable or explosive items, pressure vessels, and tankers that are threatened by the fire to a safe location. If pressure equipment is at risk, stop material input, guide contents away, or shut down heating and cool the area. Vent pressure if necessary to avoid explosions.

6. Cover the burning surface with foam, container lids, or wet blankets, quilts, or sacks. For oil pan fires, cover the lid. Use sand or soil to smother the fire and cut off oxygen supply.

7. Apply cooling techniques to reduce heat and prevent re-ignition.

After a fire, for household appliances, it's important to immediately turn them off, unplug them, or switch off the main power. If only electric sparks are visible, the fire may go out once the power is disconnected. However, if wires or electrical enclosures are on fire, cover the area with wet blankets to suffocate the flames. Never use water directly, as it can cause electrical damage or injury.
