In areas with high dust levels, regular cleaning is crucial. For light dirt, compressed air can be used to blow away the particles. If the buildup is more severe, a non-corrosive cleaning agent should be applied to clean both the tubes and fins, restoring optimal heat transfer performance. 2. **Water-Cooled Condensers**: These condensers are prone to scale buildup, especially when using water with high mineral content. The frequency of cleaning depends on the quality of the water used. For example, landscape or well water may require annual cleaning, while good-quality water might need cleaning every 2–3 years. For small water-cooled chillers with a shell-and-tube condenser, descaling can be done by injecting a 10% dilute sulfuric acid solution into the condenser until the solution flows out from the outlet. Let the solution sit for 20–30 minutes, then drain it. Repeat this process 2–3 times. Afterward, reconnect the cooling water pipes, open the valve, and let the system run for 10–20 minutes to flush out any remaining residue.
